Home to the Rajput warrior caste for more than a thousand years, Rajasthan simply bursts with life and vitality, beauty and colour, unrivalled architecture and fine traditions of hospitality. It is also home to some spectacular scenery, evocative rural villages and one of the most amazing breeds of horse in the world.
Using our deep-routed connections with Rawla Narendra Singh and his charming family at Castle Bijaipur, we have put together a wonderful seven day ride to Chittorgarh that will show you India at its most natural and magical. And to cap it all you will be riding the fabulous Marwari horse, a breed renowned for its grace, elegance and exotic beauty.
Situated on the southern side of the Aravelli Hills said to be the oldest hills in the world Castle Bijaipur is surrounded high planes and plateaus, forests of juniper, unspoilt rural villages, lakes and ancient temples, making it the perfect starting point for such a trek. From here we ride out to Pangart a lotus lake where we spend the first night, and from here it's cross country, sometimes staying in beautifully located fixed camps, sometimes in old forts and lodges and sometimes in tents until we reach Chittorgarh, the most famous of all the Rajput forts.
Included in the trip is two nights at the stunning Castle Bijaipur and two nights in Udaipur making this trip we believe a fabulous way to see real side of Rajasthan rarely glimpsed by tourists.
