Brisbane
Australia's "most livable city", Brisbane is the metropolis of Queensland, the Sunshine State. While Brisbane is a vibrant but tranquil city with so much to see and do, it is also the gateway to the sun, surf and beaches of the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. It's also only a short flight to the Queensland Islands, the Great Barrier Reef, Sydney or Melbourne.
Brisbane has many important and historical structures and buildings, some of which date back to colonial times. The oldest building in Brisbane is Windmill. The Windmill, which was originally planned for the grinding of grain, was built by convicts. The Shrine of Remembrance, is Brisbane's main memorial of remembrance to Australia's war dead. The Shrine of Remembrance has steps leading down to Anzac Square, where the Shrine of Memories is located. The Shrine of Remembrance is located opposite Central Station in Ann Street.
Also there are a lot of beautiful gardens and parklands in Brisbane.

It was my good fortune to have contracted a tour of Brisbane with John during our cruise stop in December. John is an amazing, knowledgeable professional. His family history in the area makes him imminently qualified as a guide. Our tour included all our requested sites and was organized so that we had ample time and yet did not feel rushed. We could not have had a better day in Brisbane, and I would personally recommend John to anyone planning a visit to this beautiful city.
