Sheki - (320 km from Baku), This is one of the most ancient towns in Azerbaijan, situated on a mountain slope over 2,200 ft above sea level. The upper, ancient part of the town is turned to a historical museums. In the 18th century fortress you can see the summer Palace of the Sheki Khans richly decorated with wall paintings and decorative details. The strained-glass windows and wooden latticework provide original lighting. You will stay in one of the 18th century caravanserais that was recently renovated and is serving as a hotel. Here you can stay for several days and then come back to Baku or pass on to Georgia.
