Just a stone's throw from Sunny Beach resort - yet a million miles away in terms of atmosphere and style - is the small rocky peninsula of Nessebur. Nessebur has few hotels, so guests stay on a room-only basis in private Bulgarian homes. The apartments are generally self-contained units within an occupied family house or an apartment in a small block. Furnished in a traditional style and to a good standard with a private bathroom and WC, most apartments will comprise two or three rooms (with the rooms varying in size to accommodate between two and six people). In the many cases where a Bulgarian family is living in the house, it helps to create a friendly, charming atmosphere.
Nessebur has a variety of bars, a delightful village square, and plenty of shops and markets to buy food in for cooking at your apartment. There are also a variety of inexpensive restaurants for dining out - ranging from typical Bulgarian cuisine to Mexican and Chinese - with prices so affordable, you'll be tempted to skip slaving over a hot stove even if you are a family. |
