Cheng Culture and History Adventure

Chengdu, the captial of Sichuan, is a city with brilliant cultures and history. My recommendation itinerary for Chengdu is as follows:

Day 1, keyword: ruins

Morning: Sanxingdui Ruin Site Museum; Afternoon: Jinsha Ruin Site Museum; Evening: Opera, Music Jinsha; Sanxingdui and Jinsha are both the remains of local Shu culutre 3,000 years ago, which had disappeared, The brilliant craftsmanship and other achievements found there have proved a high level of the civilization, which are reputed as treasures form a lost civilization. The Music Jinsh is base on the great discovery of Jinsha ruin site and it represents the highest achievement of Chengdu's modern opera.

Day 2, keyword: irrigation

Daytime: Dujiangyan Irrigation Projiect, located 60 km west to Chengdu City and built 2,200 years ago, is he oldest and only surviving no-dam irrigation system in the world and a wonder in the development of Chinese science. So far it still plays its role to benefit Chengdu people and is honored as Treasure of Sichuan. Evening: Taste delicious Sichuan hotpot.

Day 3, keyword: landlord & culture revolution

Morning: Liu's Manor, located at Anren Town 60 km southwest to Chengdu City; It is a very well-preserved landlord manor complex, which was luckily survived during the culture revolution. Here you will find out the daily life of the richest landlord in Sichuan before the founding of People's Republic of China in 1949; Afternoon: Jinchuan Musuem; It, funded privately, is only Culture Revolution Museum in China. Day 4, keyword: buddhism & panda

Morning: Wenshu Monastery, It ,located in the north of Chengdu, is the best-preserved buddhism temple in Chengdu City with a history of over 1,000 years. In the monastery you can eat the monks' decilicious vegetarian food, which could look and taste like meat. Meanwhile, you can visit Wenshufang nearby, a culture-themed street and you can eat Sichuan snacks and buy souvenirs; Afternoon: Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Center, It is only 10 km away from the downdown and here you can take a close look at the China's national treasure, Giant Panda and even give panda a big fug; Evening: Have dinner at Sunxing Old Teahouse, Eat decilicious Sichuan food while enjoying the magic Sichuan Opera.

Day 5, keyword: daily life

Morning: a vegetable market in the backstreet, A vegetable market can vividly reflect Chinese people's daily life. Here you can see what Chinese people eat on the table and how they bargain. Then, Songxianqiao Relics Maket, Here you will see vendors selling relics, which might be real or fake. Then, Shujiang Brocade Institute, Sichun Embroidery has enjoyed a reputation for superb craftsmanship. Here you can see embroidery needlwork and the craftsmen using big wood looms to produce brocade as ancient sichuan people did in the far past; Afternoon: drink tea at The People's Park, It is one of the top parks in China, where you can fully feel the leisurely atmosphere in Chengdu. At the same time a lecture about Chinese will be presnted, through which you will know the history of Chinese and how Chinese people create Chinese charactors; Evening: Shopping at Chengdu's downtown, Chunxi Street, It is the fashion center of Chengdu, or even of the whole Sichuan Province. Going to Chengdu without visiting Chunxi Road is like going to New York without 5th Avenue.
