The tour is available in two options. We can either enjoy it as a shore excursion with brief stops in major towns of Istria, Rovinj, Pula and Porec. Or it can take a full day with more prolonged stops in these towns and even hotel stays if necessary.

Istria is the western-most region of Croatia and its proximity to Italy can be easily observed in many small details. This region was always known for its prominent Western atmosphere of all the Balkans. Croatians even call it Croatian Tuscany since its very similar to this Italian region, boasting a large number of important historical attractions that date back to different periods. There are many remarkable examples of Greek, Byzantine, Croatian, Roman and Gothic architecture in the small towns located in Istria. Located in only 20 minutes’ drive from the Italian town of Trieste, this region is rich with natural parks, authentic restaurants, vineyards and other fascinating places.

We’ll first stop in the city of Rovinj, which was established well before the Romans annexed it during their expansion. There are many interesting places to visit in this city, including tourist shops offering different souvenirs. We’ll then head to the town Pula, which is more than 3,000 old and features a well-preserved Roman amphitheatre as well as older landmarks from the Middle Ages. Our tour will also take us to smaller medieval towns of Groznjan Oprtalj or Bale, known for their old fortifications.

The Istria region is well-known for its remarkable cuisine, which combines Balkan, Italian and Mediterranean influences in its specialties. So you will have the chance to enjoy fresh seafood prepared in different ways and enhanced with famous local wines.
