The eight hour tour of Aix en Provence starts in the morning where you will be introduced to some of the city´s most spectacular sites. Admire the stunning architecture of the town hall and Gothic churches together with the 17th and 18th century mansions built by wealthy merchants during the town´s golden period when it was the celebrated seat of the Intendance of Provence. 

It is in the mornings when the city is at its most lively, as the sun-drenched afternoons can get a little humid, and especially on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays when the market is in full swing in the historical centre, the energy is positively buzzing. Before leaving Aix, Cezanne had studied as a lawyer at the University here and you will learn much of the artist´s upbringing together with how Aix inspired his forward-thinking artistic development that would radically influence the art world some 50 years later.
