I'm an American-born freelance travel journalist living in France since 1995, when I arrived as a student to study political science and journalism. I began my writing career as the travel editor for ELLE.com in 1999, and went freelance in 2000.
I've lived in Paris and on the French Riviera, and I speak fluent French. When I'm not giving private tours of Paris, I write travel articles about the region and update guidebooks such as the Michelin Green Guide, Fodor's, Time Out, and the Adventure Guide to Paris & Ile-de-France. I'm the creator of the website Secrets of Paris, and the new guidebook, Naughty Paris: A Lady's Guide to the Sexy City. I specialize in Paris off the beaten track, and enjoy sharing not only the city's fascinating history and culture, but also what it's like to live in France today, the major differences in health care, politics, cuisine, and lifestyle from other western countries, and how the city is continuously changing. I only guide small groups in order to keep the atmosphere more conversational, so it feels like you're being shown around town by a friend, not being lectured and herded through the city's monuments like cattle! |
