Year after year, millions of tourists flock to these immense symbols of France and stand shoulder to shoulder, cameras in hand and wallets at the ready, to experience a history and culture different from their own. They pack into tour busses and are ported from one monument to the next in a procession that never ends. The French welcome these masses with indifference, consider the tourist to be a nuisance to be tolerated and fleeced. In the end, the traveler has spent a lot of money and is left wondering what all the fuss is about.

Welcome to the real France where rustling fields of sunflowers stretch to the horizon and verdant vineyards blanket the hills.

This is the France where ancient Roman ruins dot the landscape with towering aqueducts and magnificent theatres, where the only straight roads are remnants of those built by the Romans. Before Versailles and the Louvre there was everything else, the thousands of medieval villages each with an ancient church and a monument to their lost sons from countless wars. There are fortresses once besieged and held by the English. There are dungeons and castles, cathedrals and abbeys, troglodyte villages and caves filled with pre-historic art. There is so much to see, you could spend a lifetime discovering it all.

France is thick pine forests and rolling sand dunes, mountains that scrape the sky and valleys that fill with rolling mist. There are meandering rivers that snake between willow-lined banks and delicate streams that cascade through 2000 year old villages. France is mountains and mud flats, rolling hills and rocky massifs. France is a diverse landscape.

And food? All of that famous French cuisine you will never get to experience in the tourist traps of Paris is available throughout France. It is in their culture to eat well and while you may turn away from a juicy slab of horse steak or a link of pigs blood sausage, there are typical French pleasures that are guaranteed to please your palate.

How do you find all of this? You need a contact, someone who knows France and the language because away from the crowds of tourists you will find a very French France. Trip Planning It begins before you arrive with the planning of your itinerary. If you plan to stay in a major city, we suggest you use your local travel agent. If you want to avoid the beaten path, we can offer suggestions and help make local reservations. At your side in France Upon arrival, once you have passed through customs, you are in our capable hands. We will be at your side throughout the duration of your visit. We will do the driving (outside of Paris), make on-the-spot travel arrangements, sightsee with you, translate and help you to interact with the locals. The extent of our involvement in your trip is entirely up to you. We are unique in that we don't have a set itinerary or tour. We talk with you and decide what you want to do and see, then plan from there. Also, we are not limited to any one region of France.
