This tour begins at Adenauer Platz and snakes through the centre of the former downtown West Berlin, ending at Wittenburg Platz. Beginning with Berlin’s slimmest office building, only 2.5 meters wide, the tour includes the Europe Centre with its water clock, tourist information centre and over 100 shops, Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, Ka De We department store, Kufürstendamm, famous for its shopping, Savigny Platz – the bars and cafes here were the meeting places of West Berlin’s artists and intellectuals, the Jewish Community Centre, Berlin’s Chamber of Commerce and stock exchange, built by Nicholas Grimshaw of Eden Project fame, the Writers club and café. The tour ends at the Elephant Gate of Berlin’s world renowned zoo with over 13,000 species. We will experience the hustle and bustle of a busy city centre with some of the best shopping anywhere.
