Day 1: Arrival at the Kotoka International Airport. A guide from Blastours meets group on arrival and sends you to your hotel. A briefing about the tour will be given over a welcome dinner. Spend the night in Accra.
Day 2: Start the day with an Accra city tour through the principal streets of Accra. This tour will take us through the Independence square, the Arts Center, Dubois Center and the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum with a lunch break at the National Museum. Continue with the Accra city tour with a visit to the George Padmore Library on African Affairs then to the Dubois Center for Pan Africanism, Meet up with historians at the Dubois Center for debates and discussions. Spend the night in Accra.
Day 3: We set off for Cape Coast with a stopover at the Posuban Shrine. Upon arrival, we visit the Cape Coast Castle, identified as a World Heritage monuments by the UNESCO World Heritage Foundation. In the late afternoon, we visit the University of Cape Coast for a 2 hour lecture on African traditional religion and music by renowned lecturers. Spend the night in Elmina, 3-star.
Day 4: Visit the Elmina Castle and Fort Jago. After lunch, we take a walk though the historical town of Elmina with a stopover at the Java Museum. Spend the rest of the evening the Cape Coast Cultural Center for a cultural performance. Spend the night in Elmina, 3-star.
Day 5: We visit the Kakum National Park to experience a walk across the Canopy walk way. Continue trip to Kumasi through the Slave Route of Assin Manso, where the slaves were kept, had a last bath in the "Donko Nsuo" before shipment to the New World. Upon arrival in Kumasi, we visit a village in the Ashanti Region, make a presentation to the Chief, and seek permission from him to learn about the history of the region from the elders who will also be recorded. Spend the night in Kumasi, 3-star.
Day 6: Start the day with a visit to the Manhyia Palace, the seat of the Ashanti kingdom, the Yaa Asantawaa Museum and the Prempeh war museum. Also visit the Kejetia market. Spend the night in Kumasi, 3-star.
Day 7: Visit Salaga, pay a courtesy call on the Chief of Salaga. Visit the major slave market, the slave wells and cemetery now turned shrine. Also interview descendant’s slaves for a vivid narration of their history. Spend the night at the Gariba Hotel, Tamale 2-star.
Day 8: Continue trip to Paga. Upon arrival, pay a courtesy call on the Chief of Paga. Visit he Pikworo Slave market and the crocodile ponds. Overnight stay in Navrongo.
Day 9: Visit the Wa Naa's Palace, the Tomb of Ekem Ferguson and the Gwollu defence wal, which was a part of the Slave route. Have a dialogue in the late afternoon with the Chief and people over the slave experience. Overnight stay in Wa.
Day 10: Return to Tamale with a stopover at the Larabanga Mosque and the Mystery stone. Overnight stay in Tamale.
Day 11: Return to Accra with a stopover at the craft villages of Pankronu, renowned for pottery, Ahwiaa for carving and Ntonso for adinkra textiles before returning to Accra. Overnight stay in Accra.
Day 12:
Free day in Accra. Overnight stay in Accra, La Palm Beach Resort, 4-star.
Day 13: Visit the Makola Market and the Aburi Botanical gardens where we visit the woodcarvers of the mountains for handicrafts like sculptures, face masks, beads, leather, etc. Overnight stay in Accra, La Palm Beach Resort, 4-star.
Day 14: Free day and last minute shopping before departure. No overnight stay.
