This tour exits Trujillo very early in the morning to a place known as El Banco de las Estrellas (“The Star Sandbank”) where we can do snorkelling, later we go into the town of Castilla where we have the option of going down and walk around the Garifuna fishing village continuing towards the Port Facilities. In front of the Port Facility are several shipwrecks where we can snorkel, observing the colourful marine life. Then we board our motor boat and pass in front of the Naval Base at the point of Castilla. We disembark and walk around a 200 meters of white sanded beach, very clean with a gorgeous scenery of clear blue sea, the Trujillo Bay, the Capiro y Calentura mountains in the background. To conclude our trip we go through open sea and find sand dunes that form hills where turtles lay their eggs, before we enter the forest of Caribbean pine where we can take a break and listen to the wind whistle along the pine trees, as we proceed we encounter a plaque that commemorates the 500th year of Christopher Columbus’s arrival. Then we exit towards the beach to take our boat back to Trujillo.
