Then we can use the Funicular to go down to the Chainbridge. We will walk to the Parliament, the Saint Stephan's Basilica. It is an ecclesiastic basilica in Budapest, Hungary. It is named in honour of Stephen, the first King of Hungary, whose mummified fist is housed in the reliquary. It is the neoclassical architectural style and the interior is laid out in a Greek cross. The facade is anchored by two large bell towers. Visitors may access the dome by elevators or 364 stairs for a 360° view overlooking Budapest.
Then we’ll walk to Dohany street Synagogue. The Great Synagogue in Dohány Street, also known as the Dohány Synagogue, is located in Belváros, the inner city of Pest, in the eastern section of Budapest. It was built between 1855-1859 by the Neolog Jewish community of Pest according to the plans of the Viennese architect Ludwig Foerster.
From there we will use the hundred years old subway (the first on the continent!)and get off at the Operahouse. We will walk along the famous Andrássy Avenue to see its grand architecture (the avenue is part of the World Heritage!) After looking around in the Citypark, learning about our history on the Heroes' Square and we will finish our tour on the famous Covered Market Hall at the Pest end of Liberty Bridge. Here, you could combine shopping with sightseeing. A great place to stroll even in cold and rainy weather. The three-storey hall offers you plenty to do and see at least for 1-2 hours. The Great Market Hall's sheer size and splendor makes it one of Budapest's top attractions.
