This is the tour that most visitors choose and it includes the visit of the temples of Hera (Juno), Concord, Herakles (Hercules), Zeus (Jupiter) and the Telamon. You will be shown also from a distance the temples of Demeter (Ceres), Dioscuri (Castor and Pollux), Hephaistos (Vulcan) and Asklepios (Esculapios). You are not allowed to go inside the temple of Hera and the temple of Concord. It’s an easy walking tour and it should not prove difficult for anyone to do it. You better take an umbrella with you. It would be useful mainly for the sun. Agrigento area is one of the driest of Italy and the sun shines almost every day. And don’t forget your sun glasses and sun screen. The archaeological and landscape park of the Valley of the Temples of Agrigento covers about 3000 acres (1400 hectars) that is the area where the ancient city of Akragas used to be built and its surroundings. However the archaeological area covers about 1200 acres (400 hectars) and it has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List UNESCO since January 1998.
