09:00 Meeting with your tour guide in front of St Spas church, Skopje Old city where this tour starts.

So called “old part of Skopje” is located on the left bank of the river Vardar. Large number of monuments from the Ottoman era, combined with typical architecture from the beginning of 20th century, make this area “a place you must visit”.  

Church of St. Spas (Church of Holy Salvation), located on the top of, so called “Old city”, the most famous church in Skopje with its marvelous wooden iconostasis.  A short walk to the “Upper town” - Skopje fortress, with a panoramic view of the city center and the symbol of the city - The Stone Bridge. You will be invited for a coffee or traditional tea cup in the “Charshija” area - the trade point of this part of Skopje, with picturesque houses and workshops with old crafts. 

There are wide possibilities to buy a traditional and unique souvenirs and hand made parts from gold and silver.

Before the famous Stone Bridge who connects left and right part of Skopje, or old and modern part of the city, you will pass the recently built square with magnificent statue of Philip II and his wife Olympia. Here you will be invited to visit the Museum of Macedonian struggle (optional) and certainly, the Archaeological museum (optional), with its rich collection housed in the recently constructed building.

Crossing the Stone bridge you will arrive at the main city square, simply called square Macedonia, with a large number of monuments representing parts of the history of Macedonia. At the central part of this square is a fountain and the monument called “Warrior on Horse” representing Alexandar the Great

Tour continue to “Gate Macedonia” and Macedonian parliament. Right across the recently reconstructed parliament building, you will have a chance to see several new monuments, connected again with the Macedonian history.  

Passing the monument of Mother Teresa, you will be invited to visit her Memorial house, located on the main pedestrian street in Skopje. A walking part of this tour will end next to the building of the Old railway station, damaged during the Skopje earthquake in 1963, where today the City museum is housed. 

After a light drive to nearby mountain Vodno and introducing the city with magnificent panoramic view from the mountain, arrival at the monastery of St. Panteleimon , located in the village of Nerezi. Visit of the monastery dedicated to St. Panteleimon - protector of health, with its famous and unrepeatable compositions “The Descent from the Cross” and “the Lamentation”. 

15:00 Drive back to your hotel where this tour ends.
