Experience the famous Rembrandt paintings in Amsterdam, Holland in a new light! Imagine being the privileged guest of honour at the home of art historian Kees Kaldenbach. Lectures (in Dutch, English or German + translations into Japanese) are given in plain, accessible language.

There is too much to see in Amsterdam. For those who stay one day, I suggest a general Amsterdam tour with an historical walk in the most famous suburbs: Jordaan, the Dam, the Pipe, Canal tour, beguinage, Vondel park. It is relax to make the combination with with a boat trip, a visit to the Anne Frank museum, Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum or Hermitage.

We offer a private a personalized tour guide of the city of Rotterdam, which lasts approximately 2-3 hours. Rotterdam is located southwest of the country’s capital of Amsterdam, in the province of South Holland. From Amsterdam by car, the duration of the trip is about 1 hour. Our tour guide will offer a thorough and insightful perspective of Rotterdam’s history up until its present status as a modern metropolis.
As the second largest city in the Netherlands, Rotterdam offers an abundance of sightseeing options. The city has a thriving and innovative art, cultural and social scene, which is set against the backdrop of a rich, diverse and at times tumultuous history. Rotterdam’s unique historical experience has much to offer for history enthusiasts. Rotterdam once enjoyed a reputation as an important center of trade and commerce because it was a harbor city.
We will visit the Museum Harbor, an open-air museum, which is a stunning visual portrayal of the historic Port of Rotterdam. Unfortunately, Rotterdam’s prowess as a leader in trade and commerce was obliterated as a result of the German aerial bombardment of its harbor during World War II.
Not only was the port destroyed, but also nearly 98% of the city was destroyed. Thus, as we lead you through this historical maze, the architecture of the city is relatively new and modern. However, some areas of the city remained untouched from the bombardment, and traces of historical architecture still remain. While the destruction of a historic town is always tragic, the remnants of history still live on in Rotterdam. Apart from its former glory in the area of trade and commerce, the efforts of various businessmen and entrepreneurs during the 1930’s led to the development of a thriving art and cultural scene.
The resulting Boijmans Museum offers a vast collection of paintings and sculptures, and is considered a premiere example of a top-quality fine arts museum. As a testament to the city’s modern influences, the Erasmus Bridge, or Erasmusbrug in Dutch, opened in 1996 and connects the southern and northern parts of Rotterdam.
