The highest of the mountains is located in Poland. If you arrive in Poland by air you will definitely notice the high peaks of Tatra. One of them – Giewont – is also poetically called “the Sleeping Knight”.  This territory was claimed to be the national park protected by law. It is worth noting that there are many kinds of wild animals living in the park. Among them are deer, lynx, wild boar, wolves and bears. Besides animals a great variety of birds and butterflies could be found in the Tatra Mountains. However you shouldn’t be afraid of the wild animals, as far as they prefer to avoid contacts with humans. So you can feel safe while you are camping in the mountains. Flora is also very rich here, and it is represented by various rare species of flowers and plants.

This place is truly marvelous in spring when hundreds of flowers in blossom form incomparable carpets in the valleys and in the meadows. There are several caves to be discovered in the park.  The caves are quite popular among tourists, who enjoy listening to mysterious legends linked to them. It turns out that Poland had its own Robin Hood and a band of outlaws, who used to hide in those caves. All in all there are seven caves at disposal of all the newcomers. You will also find several beautiful lakes in the Tatra national park.

One of them is called the “Eye of the Sea”. This place is very popular in winter when it is possible to ski. After taking a look at the Tatra Mountains we may return to the city and have a private tour in Krakow.
