Auschwitz concentration camp annually attracts millions of tourists and travelers from all over the world. Even after so many years it still has a dark atmosphere, which could be easily felt. There were so many people killed there, so it is absolutely not surprising. You will have a unique opportunity to see the fortified walls, platforms, barbed wires, gallows, barracks, cremation ovens, gas chambers where the terrible atrocities took place during the Nazi occupation. Auschwitz concentration camp had the reputation of the most terrible and largest camp in the Third Reich. Some people know this place as Oswiecim, a Polish town where the camp was situated. It was built to “resolve the Jewish question in Europe”.  

According to the statistics approximately three million people were exterminated there. Most part of them was killed in the gas chambers, and the rest part died from starvation, suffering or starvation. Almost 90 per cent of the victims were the Jews, the rest of the people were the Poles, Russians and Gypsies. Besides the actual extermination of people the Nazi performed terrible medical experiments on their prisoners. One of the doctors was called “the Angel of Death” due to the fact that he killed lots of people.

Nowadays there is a museum, which honors the victims of Nazism.  The museum contains lots of belongings of those who were exterminated in the camp. There are thousands of shoes, suitcases and household utensils left after men, women and children who died in Oswiecim. There is also a big case (approximately 30 meters log) which is filled with human hair gathered from the Nazis’ numerous victims before their extermination.
