Hello ! My name is Andrei Nicolau Miclea and I am a tour guide and travel agent based in Bucharest, Romania. I am a full member of the American Society of Travel Agents - ASTA. I lived in the United States for a long while therefore most of my guests are American and Canadian. You might have recently seen me on the Travel Channel with an interview and narration in the Mysterious Journeys Series: In Search of Dracula.

I collaborated with Frommer's and Fodor's Travel Guide Books for field research and updating information on Romania.

With over 20 years of proven experience I tour Romania focusing on the fabulous Transylvania with its architectural heritage, Maramures with an special program there, Bucovina with the Painted Monasteries - UNESCO Sites, as well as the capital city of Bucharest.

My exclusively designed tours focus on culture and local traditions, architecture, World Heritage Sites, recent history & politics and nevertheless, the changes that occurred in Romania since the fall of Communism. I operate private tours both for the independent traveler and for small groups. Most of the tours are tailor made based on the interest, time and budget of the travelers.

Come get acquainted to the beauty of mythical Transylvania with its mediaeval castles, vineyards and pastures, picturesque and colorful Saxon villages and unique fortified churches. Visit the places related to the life and myth of Vlad the Impaler, better known as Dracula. Upper Transylvania, a region known as Maramures is a place of almost unbelievable beauty, unspoiled traditions and marvelous wood architecture and crafts.You will meet with local artists in the shops, witness traditions and enjoy a home hosted dinner.

Then, the northern area of Bucovina, famous both for its scenery and for the 15th century outside frescoed monasteries, now part of the UNESCO World Heritage, is a must for any traveler to Romania.

The southern province of Wallachia has gems of architecture: monasteries and former princely residencies. It is here that the Brancovan style was developed. Any tour will start or end in Bucharest, a vibrant and cosmopolitan capital of 2.2 million, known in the past as the Paris of the East. Mixed architecture - a reflection of various times and political systems, over 100 different churches, the second largest building in the world, a great many Parisian aspects and a charming Village Museum are only some of the attractions of this both controversial and attractive city.
