Excursion in St. Petersburg

Tour Price : depends on the quantuty of people Duration : 3-4 hours Languages: English

So you are for the first time in Saint-Petersburg. What would I recommend you to see?  Saint-Petersburg has always been a place of tourist attraction. And the reasons for it are quite clear: though being comparatively young (just a bit more than 300 years old) this city has very deep and interesting history. It was the residence of Russian Emperors for 206 years and for the same period it was the capital of Russia starting from 1712 till 1918.

This Northern city on the Neva river is a city of magic beauty, sung by poets and painted by artists, a city of marvellous  “white nights”, a city of broad, straight avenues, green parks and countless bridges and canals. Beside, Saint-Petersburg has always been the site of many political events: the Decembrists’ Uprising, the Russian Revolutions in 1917. During the Second World War, Leningard (so Saint-Petersburg was called at that period) withstood the terrible 900-day siege.

During this tour you can enjoy the highlights of Saint-Petersburg: the main street of the city Nevsky Prospect including famous Anichkov Bridge with four equestrian statues of Klodt, Anichkov Palace, Catherine Square with huge statue of Catherithe II, Arts Square and the Russian Museum, churches of different confessions, the main Orthodox Cathedral of the City – the Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan (or Kazan Cathedral), Stroganov Palace, the magnificent St. Isaac Cathedral, Mariinsky Palace, the monument to tzar Nicolas I, the widest bridge in the city (almost 99 meters!), Mariinsky theatre, St Nicolas Naval Cathedral of Theophany, the Kiss Bridge, Usupov Palace, the Bronze Horseman, the Senate and Synod buildings, main waterway of the city – the Neva River, Menshikov Palace (the first stone building), the Twelve Collegiums Building (one of the oldest buildings on Vassilievsky Island), the Spit of Vassilievsky Island (here – just unforgettable view to the birth-place of Saint-Petersburg – Peter and Paul Fortress with Peter and Paul Cathedral and to the complex of Hermitage Museum with Winter Palace among them).

We will not miss with you the first Square of the city – the Trinity Square, the first Log Cabin of Peter the Great, founder of the city, legendary cruiser Aurora (that very battle-ship which gave the signal for the October Revolution), Field of Mars, Mikhail’s Castle, the Summer Garden, the gem in the churches of the whole Russia – Church on the Spilt Blood (Church of Resurrection of Our Christ) – spot where Alexander II, tzar-liberator, was assassinated; Taurida Palace, Smolny Cathedral. To this list a lot to see could be added…

Every your suggestion is accepted! Of course behind every object stands an interesting story which I will be glad to share with you. Any questions are welcome!

During the tour several photo-stops are done to make your impressions lasted forever…  The Tour could include visiting Peter And Paul Cathedral (St. Isaac Cathedral)...
