Five generations of the most aristocratic and noble families of Russia (and one the five richest families in Russia in XVIII century) had lived in one of the miraculously survived Saint-Petersburg Palaces on the embankment of the Moika River. The history of the gender of Yusopov family goes back to the Nogai Horde. In the XVIII-XIX centuries the family possessed more than 500 factories, golden mines, about fifty palaces in whole Russia! And the Palace on the Embankment of the Moika river is a real gem in all the palaces of nobility in Saint-Petersburg. There is a small mini-theatre inside, decorated in baroc style, in its proportions resembling a real classical theatre (by the way, still in use nowadays!)

The Yusopov Palace became notoriously famous because it was here, in its basement, Palace, that Rasputin’s assassination took place on the 16 December of 1916. That tragedy continues to excite people by its mysterious character. Today a display arranged in these rooms devoted to the tragic events with wax figures of the conspirators and the victim. One of the five participants of the conspiracy (and the main one) was the young Felix Yusupov.
