Beautiful landscapes of the bright green of conifer forest obscured by the snow-covered peaks. The primordial nature stretches for hundreds of kilometers. I won’t speak a lot about the beauty of Baikal because you have to see it by yourself. Baikal is not a mere reservoir that contains H²O. First and foremost it is an ineffable miracle of a scale which amazes and defies comprehension. And though all reference-books define it as a lake, the word "sea" comes to mind when looking at Baikal. Its dimensions cannot but impress, and the figures are not sufficient enough to convey what one really feels on its shores... Travelers visiting this area always yield their hearts to the severe beauty of Baikal once and forever.

Irkutsk
The Eastern Siberian city of Irkutsk is one of the oldest and most attractive Siberian cities. It was founded in 1652 by Russian cossacks and now it is the capital of Eastern Siberia. It is situated in the south of Siberia, on the Angara River, near its outlet from Lake Baikal and it is one of the largest Siberian cities, situated on the Trans-Siberian Railway.
