Seville is the capital of Andalusia, southern region of Spain and one of the most beautiful cities in my country. With a long history of more than 2000 years, Seville has been populated by the Romans, Phoenicians,Visigothic, Muslim people and Christians. Each culture left an important cultural and architectonic trace. Today Seville is a very monumental city.In this tour I propose to you you will discover the
ALCAZAR.
It’s the most ancient royal palace still in use. It was founded by the Muslim People one thousand years ago and it’s still today the siege of the Spanish Royal Family when they come to Seville. Surrounded by an old wall, you can visit inside three wonderful palaces, remains of Moors culture, House of Commerce, central of trade with America in the sixteenth century and the magnificent Renaissance gardens.
CATHEDRAL.
It’s the third largest cathedral in the Christian world, and one of the richest. We have an impressive altarpiece of 28 meters high made in gold with the main episodes of the Holy Bible carved. We also have the REAL TOMB OF CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS, who after four centuries travelling after his death came to have a rest in this saint Cathedral. Moreover, fantastic pictures by the best artist in Spain:Murillo, Zurbaran, Goya…
SANTA CRUZ QUARTER.
Next to Alcazar and Cathedral we have the old Jewish quarter, populated by the Hebrews in the Middle Age it’s today a Christian quarter that kept the Jewish influence in the narrow and serpentine streets and in the secret and peaceful atmosphere. Forged iron decorating the windows, geraniums in the balconies, facades painted in white and yellow, and hidden squares wherever you go makes this neighbourhood a charming coin of Seville and its most famous quarter.
