Two UNESCO towns: Split and Trogir

Private tour in Split

Tour Price : €270 Duration : 6 hours Languages: English / Español Discount: yes

Tour: Two UNESCO protected towns: Split (Diocletian palace) and 3 millennia old Trogir

Split is the second largest city in Croatia, and the largest settlement along its coastline. The beauty of Split has been known for centuries, and it’s not surprising that it was included to the UNESCO Heritage list in 1979. But there’s much more than history in this adorable Mediterranean city that is considered to be one of the most beautiful coastal settlements in whole Europe.

Our tour starts in Split, where I will meet you either in the city center or any other location you will specify (hotel, ship dock, etc.). After having a short walk through the center, admiring and learning the history of its beautiful historic landmarks, we’ll head to Trognir, which is a small town located in 30 minutes’ drive outside of Split.

Trogir is an ancient settlement that is said to be known well since the Greeks have lived here several centuries before our era. Logically, it has been proclaimed as a UNESC Heritage Site as well, and many specialists claim that it features one of the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic architectural complexes in Europe. Surrounded by century-old walls and featuring many intact buildings of various styles including Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance, Trogir is truly a marvelous place for anyone who loves history and likes exploring old places.

And if you love exploring local cuisine, both Split and Trogir boast a large number of restaurants and cafes that offer various types of Dalmatian food. It is known for its intense use of seafood such as fish, oysters, calamari and lobsters, but also features other Mediterranean influences as there’s nothing strange in seeing a pizza or pasta being served in a local restaurant.

The second part of our tour after lunch will focus on the central part of Split itself. The large number of museums, cathedrals and important historic buildings will keep you interested for ours, while your guide will tell you different facts and fascinating stories associated with Split. You certainly won’t regret about taking this tour!

We had a great day with Kristina on our tour of Split and Trojir. We were a small group of 8 and Kristina was able to help,U.S. Understand the history and culture of the town and country. She was flexible and accommodated all our requests. Her enthusiasm and personality added to a wonderful day. I would highly recommend Kristina when in Croatia.
