Sigulda is the local Switzerland of Latvia - this town is located near the Gauja river with steep banks , it is the best place for animals, birds and plants - Gauja National Park is located there. It is a place, where it is possible to fly in the sky, to ski in winter, to have fun in Tarzan's adventure park , to visit Sigulda bobsleigh trap or to walk and to spend much time in the nature near the Gauja river.

There are special made walking paths , bicycle paths in Gauja national park, camping places near the river and it is also possible to rent a boat during the summer period. Yellow Cable car can bring you to the left bank of the river Gauja. Sigulda Old and New castle, the King's chair ,the Walking sticks' park, Gutman's cave and the medieval Turaida castle are the highlights of that area.

To see Sigulda and the area near the Gauja river better, you have to go just 139 steps up to the Turaida tower. Turaida Museum reserve has more then 42 h , the Park of Latvian folk songs , the grave of Maija or the Rose of Turaida, Turaida church, buildings of the estate with interesting expositions will enjoy you ! The distance is about 50 km from Riga.
