Four days to explore the chain of the High Atlas ranges and the Canyons of Dadès and Todra. You will admire also the sunrise of the famous dunes of Merzouga.
ITINERARY :
Day 1: Marrakech – col de Tichka – Aït Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – gorges du Dadès. 400 km.
A spectacular drive towards the High Atlas Mountains. You will enjoy the fertile landscape before climbing up to Tizin Tichka pass (2260 Fts) the highest passage in Morocco and all North Africa. Few km after the Tizin Tichka pass, take a recommended turn-off leading to the fortified Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, 30 Km from the town, and see the architecture of old villages built in clay. Indeed, this Kasbah is so exceptional that UNESCO has given it world heritage status. After Ouarzazate, drive towards Gorges of Dades;Accommodation in KASBAH DE LA VALLEE DU DADES .
Day 2:Gorges du Dadès – Erfoud – Merzouga. 225km.
Return on the principal road to continue towards the East to reach Erfoud, then Rissani; the capital of Tafilalt, where the Alawit dynasties ancestors are buried. Continuation to the dunes of Merzouga, where you’re Bivouac is situated. In the evening, you will experience an unforgettable camels ride, “the desert ship” will carry you to witness sunset and admire the beautiful landscape.Accommodation will be provided in Bivouac.
Day 3:Merzouga – Erfoud – Fés . 470 km.
Early wake up to witness the spectacular sunrise appearing over the gigantic dunes: The Deep South holds a wealth of such majestic moments. Return to the bivouac for breakfast, then towards Erfoud, and long drive to Fés.
