This private tour lasts for approximately a day; however it is focused on a great variety of remarkable and outstanding places. We will move to the western part of Portugal, and explore such places as Alcobaña, Batalha, Obidos, and Nazare. We may start either from Alcobaca or Batalha, it is up to you. Both of the cities are really amazing. We can also make a stop in Fatima, which is considered to be the major religious center of Portugal.

This place attracts thousands of pilgrims and ordinary tourists and travelers each year. Obidos is a wonderful city to visit. Its name derives from Latin and means a “fortified city” or a “citadel”, and it is quite true. There is a beautiful castle in the city, which hosts a traditional Medieval Market every July. You can feel the spirit of the medieval times for two weeks a year. It is the best time to visit Obidos, because the whole city looks quit different. You will have a unique opportunity to watch exciting medieval shows, costumed parade, and horse displays.

As your private guide in Lisbon I will tell all the interesting stories about Obidos and all the cities we visit. Our next destination will be Alcobaca with its 8 centuries old monastery. It is considered to be a well-preserved example of medieval architecture. We will have our lunch in Nazare, a picturesque Portuguese village. It is widely known due to its breath-taking views of the Atlantic Ocean. I am sure you would enjoy fresh grilled fish. After lunch we will proceed to the Sanctuary of Fatima. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century at the place where Our Lady of Fatima first appeared. It is also a well-known destination of pilgrims from all over the world. In the evening we will return to the capital of Portugal, and we could have a private tour in Lisbon as well.
