The Troodos Region is known as the green heart of the island of Cyprus, with majestic, pine-covered mountain peaks rising above picturesque villages and fertile valleys. Visitors come year round to enjoy the winding nature trails alongside babbling mountain streams and occasional waterfalls. In winter skiing is the favorite activity along the pristine slopes of the Troodos Mountains, the most famous of which is Mount Olympus.

Mountain biking is popular in the warm season, as is fishing at the dams. The Troodos Mountains are also where you’ll find the famous painted churches of Cyprus, ten of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Several small wineries and renowned vineyards welcome visitors for wine tasting tours, and a favorite relaxing pastime is wandering through the charming villages along cobblestone streets. 

Visitors simply must explore beautiful Solea Valley, known as “apple valley”, as well as Marathasa, the “valley with cherry trees.”
