Information about Karlovy Vary
Karlovy Vary (also Carlsbad) is a well- known spa city located where the Ohre and Tepla Rivers meet in the western Bohemian region of the Czech Republic. Founded in the 14th century, Karlovy Vary is famous for its more than 300 hot springs, and has become a popular destination for celebrities seeking spa treatment.
Karlovy Vary is a small town with a population of just over 50,000 residents, but is nonetheless world renowned for several reasons, including Moser Glass and the popular liquer, Karlovarska Becherovka.
The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival draws visitors from across the globe who also enjoy strolling through the Old Town center past a perfectly manicured park with an ornate iron gazebo and promenading avenues of Art Nouveau homes. More adventurous tourists can hike through the forest trails to take in the magnificent view from atop the Diana Lookout Tower (also accessible by cable car).
