Information about Panama City

We kindly ask that you consider trekking to Panama City when arranging an upcoming vacation.   Panama City is the capital of the Republic of Panama and has a tropical climate. Temperatures and humidity are high with little seasonal deviation.  Panama's tropical environment supports an abundance of plants.

Panama's wildlife holds the most diversity of all the countries in Central America. It is home to many South American species as well as North American wildlife. The prevailing feature of the country's landform is the chief spine of mountains and hills that create the continental divide.

The peaks were molded as a result of by volcanic interferences.   The culture of Panama was born out of European music, art, and traditions that were introduced by the Spanish to Panama. Hegemonic forces have created hybrid forms of this by blending African and Native American culture with European culture.  Dance is an icon of the assorted cultures that have melted together in Panama.   Regional tradition can be relived through a spectrum of festivals, dances and traditions that have been passed along from generation to generation.    Local cities showcase live music performances in an abundance of rhythms and genres.

Panama's mingled culture is also mirrored in goods such as woodcarvings, pottery, architecture, cuisine and festivals. The Christmas parade, El desfile de Navidad, is celebrated in Panama City. The floats in the parade are decorated with Panamanian colors and a commanding Christmas tree is illuminated with lights.  Panama City is a wonderful selection for a terrific vacation.
