Almeria is a lovely province at the east of Andalusia. I have been living there for many years and know all special sites. Well known for the shootings of many Spaghetti Westerns (For a fistful of dollars...etc) its main treasure however are the unspoiled beaches of the Nature Reserve Cabo de Gata. We should plan at least a full day trip. If you arrive at the port of Almeria, we have enough time to see the city during a short panoramic tour and then continue towards Cabo de Gata.

Let us stop at the saltings and observe some flamingos (of course, I can't guarantee that they will be there on the day of your arrival!) then continue to Isleta del Moro which is a true paradise! Very interesting also the fossil dunes of Los Escullos. If you wish to find a nice place for lunch, I would recommend Rodalquilar where in former times the gold mines were located.
