Customer's Opinions
All these tourists had unforgettable travel experience because of our guides from Rio de Janeiro.
Let them make your dream vacation a reality.
Carmichael:  2 of us are arriving from the UK into Rio on Friday Feb 29th. The cruiseline have booked us into the Intercontinental Rio Hotel at Sao Conrado close to the Fashion Mall. We will stay 3 nights. Our 2 friends are arriving from the USA into Rio on Saturday 1st March. They are also booked into the Intercontinental, but for 2 nights. We will all join our cruise ship, (HAL ROTTERDAM) at I think, the Praca Mava pier on Monday 3rd March and sail at 1700. The 4 of us would like to spend 2 days visiting some of the highlights in Rio and also in Petropolis. This would be Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of March. The 2 persons arriving on Saturday 1st have an expected flight arrival time of 0730 and hope to arrive at the Intercontinental and be ready to leave for sightseeing by 1000 latest. The 2 of us who will have arrived the previous day will also be ready at that time. On Sunday 2nd March we can be ready to start sightseeing much earlier. We do not mind what time we finish each day. There is so much to see and do in and around Rio and our time is so short that we simply cannot do it all. We have therefore kept our wish list fairly short. Whether or not even this is realistic we do not know. It could depend on traffic, crowds etc. And we think there may be a national holiday on Saturday 1st. Your advice would be welcome. In no particular order: CORCOVADO MIRANTE DONA MARTA (viewpoint) which is on a route between CORCOVADO AND SUGARLOAF. SUGARLOAF COPACABANA, IPANEMA, LEBLON BEACHES (photostops only, we have no interest in spending time on the beach, and hopefully MIRANTE DO LEBLON for views) TIJUCA FOREST (SCENIC DRIVE AND PHOTOSTOPS, hopefully including VISTA CHINESA) CENTRAL AREA Drive around with photostops at nicest buildings, squares etc. If possible would like a very quick look inside the modern CATEDRAL METROPOLITANA, and photostops at the ESCADARIO SELARON and ARCOS DA LAPA. All 3 are conveniently close together. Time permitting, any other particularly scenic photostops, viewpoints etc. We are unsure about an actual Samba show. Saturday evening we think we may be too tired. We also think unlikely there will be shows on a Sunday evening, but if there are, that would be our preferred option. As a rule we do not like shows which are for tourists, maybe something which is more informal and frequented by local people? It does not even need to be a full show, just something that gives us an idea of samba would be ok. PETROPOLIS Is our second day preferred option. We dont mind if there is less time on day 1 if any sightseeing left over could be fitted into day 2. Nor do we mind which order the sights are in. And we do not mind whether it is Rio on day 1 and Petropolis on day 2 or the opposite way around. We would though if possible prefer to go up Corcovado and Sugarloaf on whichever of the 2 days has the least amount of cloud/mist. This will be our only trip to Rio so the views are important as they are so symbolic of Rio. For now this is only an enquiry, not a definite booking. Once you reply with your availability, pricing, suggestions etc we will forward your reply to our friends so that we can all decide together. Thank you very much,
CHUCK:  We are 4 Americans in our early 70's who will be visiting Rio in December of 2013 and are interested in a variety of tour experiences before our cruise ship departs. The following information may assist you in making suggestions for us. DEC 4: We are arriving around noon and would like a transfer from the airport to our hotel which is yet to be determined (any suggestions ?). We would be traveling with 4 large suitcases & 4 carry on type bags. We would likely just relax in the afternoon. DEC 5, 6, & 7 : Three full days available for sightseeing. Pick-up and drop-off at the hotel. DEC 8: This morning we will check-out of the hotel. We have the full day available for sightseeing. However, we will be taking our luggage with us, as today is the day we check-in and board the ship. We can do this anytime after noon, but we thought you would drop us at the ship at the conclusion of the days sightseeing. Will that work ? Or will dragging our luggage around with us in the car present a problem of either comfort or security ? DEC 9: Day of sightseeing with pick-up and drop-off at the ship NO LATER THAN 4 PM. Ship departs (with us at 5PM). ******************************************************* SUMMARY: 1 Airport Transfer for 4 guests with 4 large & 4 small suitcases. 5 days of sightseeing in or around Rio. Please give me an estimate of what you would charge for the services requested above. ******************************************************* Also, it would be appreciated if you could outline your suggestions for how you would suggest filling the 5 days available for sightseeing. We don't enjoy hiking, or a lot of difficult walking (stairs or uneven surfaces). We enjoy the outdoors, scenery, local markets, unique architecture, glimpses of everyday life and things to be seen that are unique Rio. A day trip outside of Rio could be acceptable, depending on the destination. I look forward to your response, CHUCK
Robert:  We are traveling to Rio for a conference at the Windsor Barra Hotel. On Wednesday, we are moving to the Copacabana Palace. We would like to find a tour guide to help us enjoy the city and surrounding areas. Here is what we are thinking of now, assuming the guide(s) believe our plans make sense. There may be one other party joining us for some of these trips. April 2: Our plane arrives from the US at 11:30 am. There are 3 of us on this flight who would like to be picked up at the airport, spend a few hours in the Centro area, and then taken to our hotel in Barra de Tijuca. We read that there is a big market in Centro the first Saturday of each month and would like to visit this market as well as anything else in Centro (such as the Cathedral) that you might recommend before heading to our hotel. April 3: We are interested in going to Corcovado in the morning, as well as the Hippie Market in Ipanema, and the Botanical Gardens. This would be for 3 people. April 4 and 5: There will be 2 people who are interested in a day trip to Petropolis if it is not too expensive for 2 people? We are open to other ideas for places to visit that you might recommend. Since we will be in that end of town, we may go to Sitio Burle Marx and the surrounding areas. Either April 7 or 8: Four people would like to go to Sugarloaf in the morning and then to Santa Teresa. We will have changed hotels at this point, and will be staying at the Copacabana Palace, so this is where we will be picked up (instead of Barra de Tijuca). Another member of our party is arranging a trip to Parque Nacional de Tijuca on either the 7th or 8th. April 9: Our flight leaves at 7:00 pm. We are interested in being picked up from the Copacabana and going to Niteroi and the Museu de Arte Contemporanea before checking into the airport. There will be 3 people this day. Any help you can give us would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
John:  My wife and I fly from the US to Rio at the end of February. Our departure date to be determined by how many days you recommend we take to see what we want to see. We are currently scheduled to depart from Rio on the Cruise ship Insignia on March 4th at 2200 This is our 1st trip to Rio De Janerio. We are “into” panoramic” views, museums, and architecture. Are you available during this time? I want to visit the usually tourist sites. I expect my wife and I will arrive in AM after 12-20 hour flight. We will need transportation from the airport and moderate price hotel recommendations. Perhaps Arpoador Inn or the Golden Tulip Continental After lunch and resting perhaps walking along the beach for a leisure afternoon of “people watching”, followed by sunset about 1930 at Arpoador Beach then dinner. I have a list of places I want to go for sunsets weather permitting: Corcovado and then another day Sugarloaf though I am open to suggestions. Other sites I would like to visit are: Museu Historico National perhaps 2-3 hours (open to suggestions) Paco Imperial Museu National (Quinta da Boa Vista) 2-3 hours (open to suggestions) Museu Chacara do Ceu 2-3 hours Ruin Park Palacio do Catete Forte do Lemme Forte de Coppacabana Palacio Gustavo Capanema I would also like to go to a Carnavel Dress Rehearsal if possible and/or observe or “follow along” a blocos. I am not sure how many days I will need to see the sights but my schedule at the end of February is flexible. And I am open to suggestions. I believe I can board the Insignia Wednesday March 3nd after 1500 and sleep on the boat that evening. We need to be back on the boat by the evening of March 4th as it sails at 2200. If you are available please provide me your rate structure.
