Information about Iguassu Falls

Iguassu falls are considered to be one of the greatest natural wonders of the world. The falls are situated near the border of Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina, but approximately 70% of them are located on the Argentinean territory. Some part of the falls faces Brazil, so seasoned travelers advice to take a look at Iguassu Falls from both sides – Brazil and Argentina. The natural border between these two countries is the Iguassu River.

If you decide to start with Brazil, you should know that the quantity of waterfalls always depends on the volume of water. At some times during the year you can be lucky enough to see as many as 275 separate waterfalls. Can you imagine that? So many waterfalls cascading long the edges of almost three kilometers cliffs. The so-called “Devil’s throat” is the biggest attraction here – the largest volume of water passes with a thundering roar that can be heard even several miles away from the site.

From the Brazilian side you can also get an excellent overview of the Devil’s throat. If watching and enjoying that enormous beauty is not enough for you, you can take a spectacular boat trip that can be made under the falls. It is worth noting that Iguassu jungles abound in wild animals living in their natural environment, and exploring jungles is also a good option.

Let me introduce myself, my name is Marcelo Rocha, was born and still living in Iguassu Falls. In 2006 I graduated Bachelor of Tourism by the UDC, a local college. I am fluent in English, French, Spanish, Italian and Spanish I learned in a self-taught. Since childhood I always liked reading, insects, nature, birds, geology and cultures. In my teens I started to assemble a collection of insects. And I became interested more in Brazilian zoology, which some years later, was very helpful when I started working with tourists on a trail in the Iguaçu National Park.

Questions about Iguassu Falls
Hello Marcello, I understand that the border between Brazil and Argentina is closed due to COVID. Are you able to guide in Brazil. We will be in Brazil and can't go to Argentina. If you can't enter Brazil, do you know someone who can. We have only a brief stay in Iguacu.
