Airport - Carrasco International Airport (IATA: MVD, ICAO: SUMU) is the largest airport in Uruguay. It is located north of Ciudad de la Costa in the Canelones department, in close proximity to (and east) of the capital city of Montevideo. Airport is about 15 km east of the city center.
Shopping - The Mercado de los Artesanos contains goods from different artists and craftspeople in leather, paper, woodwork and textiles. The Montevideo Leather Factory at Plaza Independencia has a wide range of leather jackets at reasonable prices. Manos del Uruguay has several locations throughout Montevideo and sells beautiful woven goods and other handcrafted items and is a bit more upscale in pricing. Punta Carretas Shopping Mall is a large shopping mall located in a former prison. It has multi-levels of shopping, a food court, cineplex and full-service dining options.
