If you stay 4 DAYS IN VIENNA you can see quite a lot. We suggest: Day 1: like already described in "Vienna:Cutural & Culinary Highlights" Day 2+3: will be described here Day 4: full day free in Vienna for shoppimg, museum tours, etc, as you personally prefer it. 2 DAYS - SALZBURG and SALZKAMMERGUT.
This tour will show you Salzburg, besides Vienna the most famous city of Austria and part of the UNESCO world heritage list as well, and will bring you to the beautiful lake region of Salzkammergut, home of the Trapp family (Sound of Music) and for me the most pictoresque landscape of Austria. In Salzburg you will admire the impressive Salzburg Castle, residence of powerful archbishops, the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, romantic courtyards and baroque palais. You will spend one night in the region and on the next day you will go to St. Wolfgang on Wolfgangsee, one of the most beautiful places in the Alps, to Bad Ischl to see the summer residence of emperor Franz Joseph and empress Elisabeth (Sisi) and on the way back to Vienna you will pass the wonderful Traunsee, another lake of the region. One of the lakes (eighter Wolfgangsee or Traunsee) you will cross by boat. For sure you will taste culinary highlights of the region, e.g. fish caught from the lakes or other typical dishes in a very romantic, Alpine athmosphere. The hotel we will choose for the night in between will be a typical, traditional, Alpine building in the centre of the visited region. |
