Airport - Berlin has three airports. Tegel International Airport (ICAO: EDDT, IATA: TXL) - located in the north-west of the city; Schonefeld (ICAO: EDDB, IATA: SXF) - small airport southeast of the city centre; Tempelhof (ICAO: EDDI, IATA: THF) - a small relic of the pre-war era due for closure in October 2008, Tempelhof is located immediately south of the city centre but has only a small number of connections serviced mainly by domestic and european flights.
Shopping - Ku`Damm and its extension, Tauentzienstra?e remain the main shopping streets even now that the Wall has come down. KaDeWe (Kaufhaus Des Westens) at Wittenbergplatz is a must visit even if just for the vast food dept at the 6th floor. It's reputedly the biggest department store on Continental Europe and still has an old world charm, with very helpful and friendly staff. Friedrichstra`e is the upmarket shopping street in the former East Berlin with Galeries Lafayettes and the other Quartiers (204 to 207) as main areas to be impressed with wealthy shoppers.

Private guides of Berlin. Germany | | Guide in Berlin. Insider Tour - Andrew Andrew - like Karl Marx, he_s the son of a minister and is given to philophising late into the long, long Berlin nights. He came to Germany 6 years ago to teach the former east Germans about Canada and used to live very close to a nuclear reactor of the Chernobyl type - if there's a certain glow about him its no wonder. | See all private and personal guides of Germany |
