The capital of Switzerland and the fourth most populated city is Bern. The historic city center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and in 2010 Bern was ranked in the top ten cities for best quality of life. Bern is located on the Swiss Plateau in the Canton of Bern. The city was built on uneven ground as the area around Bern was formed by glaciers during the Ice Age.

Charming and enchanting are words used to describe Bern. From the majestic mountains of Gurten and Bantiger to the Zytglogge, an elaborate clock tower with moving puppets, there are many things to see and do in Bern. Even Albert Einstein lived in Bern, he lived there from 1903 to 1905, the years in which the Annus Mirabilis Papers were published.
