Listed as a regional Nature Reserve in 1977 the lush oak forests, dramatic limestone cliffs and colourful lavender-filled fields provide stunning scenery as you travel between each of the regions picturesque mountain villages. 

On your tour of Luberon you will venture through carved gorges to the exquisite hilltop village of Gordes before heading out under the ochre cliffs that surround the colourful village of Roussillon. Discover the mysteries in the haunted ruins of Lacoste where the Marquis de Sade held his sordid soirees in his hillside castle. Venture into the hills of Bonnieux and admire the breathtaking views of Calavon Valley before arriving in the quaint village of Lourmarin with its show-piece Renaissance castle. 

You will learn something of the regions fascinating history including the violent and bloody battles that were fought here between the Catholics and the Protestants in the 16th Century. A one hour visit to the Abbey of Senanque which was built by a brotherhood of Cistercian monks in the 12th Century is also an option upon request. 

Other than the history and the stunning scenery of your tour around the Luberon province, you will also visit the stunning wine region of Côtes du Luberon where you can participate in some wine tasting in the picturesque Village des Bories not far from Gordes.
