Information about Paris
Airport - Charles de Gaulle International Airport (Roissy ICAO: LFPG, IATA: CDG) to the north-east of the city is one of the major hub airports of Europe. It's notoriously confusing, so allow plenty of time for transfers. There are three terminals: Terminal 1, Terminal 2 (which is huge and subdivided into 2A through 2F), and Terminal 3 (formerly T9). The free CDGVAL shuttle train connects the terminals together. Everything at this airport is very expensive and especially the basics like food. There are also hardly any benches around.
Shopping - Paris is of course one of the great fashion centers of the Western world, up there with New York, London, and Milan, making it a great place to do clothes shopping. For the high end, the area around Place Vendome is known for its jewelery shops as e.g. Cartier. Rue de Rivoli from Louvre to Place de la Concorde has a number of sophisticated shops. And of course you shouldn't miss Gallerie Lafayette and Le Printemps (both in the 2nd close to the Operahouse) and BHV which you can find in the Le Marais district in the 4th near the Hotel de Ville. Owing to the its history of as a mostly Jewish neighborhood most of the shops in much of Le Marais are open on Sundays. Hotels Cafe\Restaurants |
