Day 1 Marrakesh
In the heart of Marrakesh, the Place Djemaa el-Fna is a living theatre of musicians, dancers, storytellers, boxers, snake-charmers, musicians and acrobats. The whole family will love this riot of entertainment.
Days 2-3 Ouarzazate & Ait Benhaddou
From the desert outpost of Ouarzazate we travel down the 'Valley of the Thousand Kasbahs' to the exotic kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, one of the most beautiful in all of Morocco and the filming location for Hollywood movies such as Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. Centuries ago, this was an important stop for the caravans, as they carried salt across the Sahara, returning with gold, ivory and slaves.
Day 4 Marrakesh
Returning to Marrakesh, there is time to explore mosaic of souqs, each devoted to a separate trade - pottery, woodwork, copper, leather, carpets and spices.
Days 5-6 High Atlas Mountains
From our base in Armed, we can trek to a local Berber village for a cup of mint tea. In the evening we are visited by local children for a night of singing, drumming and dancing.
Days 7-8 Taroudannt
Leaving the mountains behind us, we journey to Taroudannt, for a slower change of pace. A highlight of any visit here is a bicycle ride around the magnificent ramparts that surround the town.
Days 9-10 Agadir
Wash the mountain dust off in the seaside city of Agadir on the Atlantic coast. Set in a sheltered bay, Agadir has some of the safest swimming beaches in all of Morocco. You may choose to end the adventure with a camel ride on the beach!
