Suzanne: We are a party of 6 able adults (ages 22-61) looking for a 3-4 hour private tour of Zurich. We will be arriving in Zurich (HB rail station) on Friday, October 5 , 2012 via the overnight Cityline #40419 from Amsterdam at 8:34:00. Our time in Zurich is limited (we depart @7:00:00 on Sunday the 7th of October via train for Florence) and none of us have ever visited Zurich or Switzerland for that matter. Ideally then, we would like to start an "overview" tour from the train station (9:00:00 would be fine if that is when your tours normally start) and end it @12:30:00 -13:00:00 (see below for possible bot add-on). I see that you have Sprinter vans. Would we be able to have a large enough Sprinter van to accommodate the 6 of us and our luggage (1 large/x-large suitcase and one rolling carry-on each)? Alternatively, we could squeeze into the normal size sprinter van for 6 people and drop our luggage at the Dolder Hotel, but this would eat into our tour time. I realize that a larger van and the dealing with our luggage would be an extra expense, and that is not a problem. Also, we would also be interested in a private boat ride/tour on Lake Zurich. This could be incorporated or added on to the above, however, we would surely need to drop our luggage at the Dolder if we do this. Are night time private cruises available and/or advisable? Please advise as to your ability to accommodate us and/or any suggestions. Also, pricing alternatives. We would like to limit our total tour time to 5 hours as we have other activities planned at the Hotel Dolder.
Roy: My wife and I would like help in planning a private tour of Switzerland in early June, 2013. We will first be on a group tour of the northern lake region of Italy and will be in Ascona on the last day of the tour (actually, the second to last day, as the group returns to Stressa that evening and everyone departs for home the following morning.) So, we can stay overnight in Ascona or Lucarno, and our Switzerland tour will begin from there. If that would not work, we would stay with the group, return to Stresa, and go to Milan to fly to a destination in Switzerland.
We are both retired and are 70/69 years of age. My wife is not physically mobile enough to include long walks/hikes. Our interests are sightseeing (historical/scenic),culture, cuisine, music, shopping. We would like to explore Lucern, Bern....go to Buchs to visit our brother-in-law's relatives...take a scenic ride on a train (Glacier Express? Bernina Express?)...visit the Interlaken area. Our departure city would be Zurich.
We are thinking of using the train system to travel around the country and getting together with local guides that can provide a car to show us around the local area and explain what we are seeing.
On a 5 star hotel rating system, we would consider 3 and 4 star hotels.
We are flexible on the total number of days in Switzerland, but are thinking of 7-8 days.
Please arrange a tour taking into account our interests and transportation preferences.
thank you.
ANTONIS: Dear sir,
We have already booked to stay two nights at Bern (Allegro Hotel), on 1st and 2nd Oct,
and two more nights at Geneva (Royal Hotel) on 3rd and 4th Oct…
What we search is how to “built” a trip programme, so as to combine the swiss railway system and some daily tours, in order to make a romantic and memorable journey, in normal cost.
We have already booked our flights and stay as follows:
We fly from Athens to Zurich, 1st Oct, 06.30 - 08.30
We fly from Zurich to Athens, 5th Oct, 20.30 - 00.30 (6th Oct)
We stay at Bern on 1st and 2nd Oct
We stay at Geneva on 3rd and 4th Oct
So, taking into account the fixed parts of the journey, we have to fill the programme:
2 Oct: FIXED: We wake up in Bern QUESTION: Which day trip to choose starting from Bern or Lucern?
3 Oct: FIXED: We wake up in Bern and some time in the day we must move to Geneva to stay there QUESTION: We thought to make a 5 hour city tour of Geneva. Would you agree?
4 Oct: FIXED: We wake up in Geneva QUESTION: Which day trip to choose starting from Geneva? Chamonix isn’t something special to see, based on Geneva? Would you agree?
5 Oct: FIXED: We wake up in Geneva and at 18.00 we must be in Zurich in order to fly at 20.30 QUESTION: Wouldn’t be a good choice to see Montreux & Chillon Castle in the morning and then take a train Geneva – Zurich Airport at 14.00?
Would you be able to offer some help?
Mike: Aloha, We are three gentlemen from Hawaii, ages 80,71 & 57 who will be on a 3 week holiday in Europe in September 2011. Our trip begins in London for several days to visit friends and ends with a 10 day cruise from Barcelona. We have been to Europe many times, but have never had the opportunity to see much of Switzerland. We plan to fly to Switzerland the afternoon of Sunday 4, September and fly to Barcelona on Thursday morning 8 September. We prefer non stop flights and believe we need to leave from Zurich to fly directly to Barcelona, however we can fly directly from London to many cities in Switzerland. Essentially, we would have 3 days to tour in Switzerland and would like to see as much of the country as we can in that short time. This would include an excursion into the Alps and also touring the major cities. We are interested in history, architecture, nature and music. One of us is a professional organist of many years and loves to see significant pipe organs, whether in churches or concert halls. I would love to find a tour company that can provide an inclusive package of car travel, hotel arrangements and meal suggestions. If you are interested in offering your services to us within these parameters I would be delighted to hear from you. Sincerely,
