Answers about Mexico

Hi,

I have a high interest in history and archaeology and would like to discover more about the Mayan. Apart from Tulum are there other cities where I can see Mayan ruins and what other interesting activities can one do while visiting these cities?

Sincerely,
Daniela

Hello Daniela, yes of course, south of the state of Quintana Roo there are some fascinating and almost unknown Mayan sites, like Calakmul which is also a Biosphere Reserve, it has huge temples in the jungle where you can see the monkeys on the trees.
Wild life is amazing down here
There is also Kohunlich, with itīs Mascaron of God of Wind.
Or Becan, Chicanna, Dzibanche.
Visiting these archaeological sites is really a very different experience as that one lived on the touristic areas as Tulum or Chichen Itza.
You can easily spend 2 or 3 days in the area.
I know the area and can design a visiti for you if you want. Send me details.
Looking forward to your comments, my best regards

Absolutely, the mayan area is a big one, it comprhends 4 mexican states and Guatemala, there are many arcvhaeological sites in the Yucatan peninsula, you can take a tour to Merida from Cancun that will include a visit to Chichen Itza. If your interest is of the mayan region only I would recommend you to take a several day trip by car that can include the mexican states of Chiapas, Yucatan, Quintana Roo, and Campeche. If your visit to Mexico includes Mexico City donīt forget to visit the antropological museum. I hope this could clarify you a little, if you have any questions about Iīll gladly answer them.
Best Regards
