Warren: Hello Personal Guide,
You are no doubt deep in winter up there, here we have been going through a heat wave. Wendy and I are calling at Zeebrugge on the cruise ship Regatta. We arrive on the 15th September 2010 estimated arrival is 08:00 and we depart at 18:00. We have never been to Europe before and are making the most of, what we can say is a sample this time around. We do not do coaches with loads of people being hearded on and of the bus. We prefer to do a private tour at our leasure with a person who is local warm and friendly. Our interests are history, architecture, food (my hobby and passion)and generally how the locals of the region city or country work, live and play. We would appreciate any recommendations and costs. I am the proud owner of a map of Ypres carried by one of Australias soldiers who fought there in WW1 and survived, it appears not to be too far and would be a very interesting place to visit. We will be guided by your knowledge as to what we do there. We will look forward to your reply in due course. We know it is a way off yet but we love being organised and plan well ahead, it is after all half way around the world and we want to make the most of our six weeks away.
My wife and myself are visiting Brussels soon and would like to ask if you can arrange a visit to Ypres from Brussels for Friday 29 August? We arrive the night before.
We want to visit the Menin Gate, tour the town, the Flanders Field Musueum, Dikebusch Cemetery, Zillebeke and finish by watchin the Last Post ceremony before returning to Brussels.
We are booked into the Aris Grand Palace Hotel, Grasmarktstraat 78-80.
If this is possible can you please advise start and finish times and cost?
I am looking for information about your guided tour of Ypres. My parents are going to Brussels late March and they would like to do a tour of the old war fields, and/or west Flanders. Do you provide this service at this time of the year (about March 21st) and if so how much for a day tour for 2 adults. They are staying in Brussels, so would you also have any information about getting to Ypres?
Jim: My family is looking for 1-day tour of World War I battlefields focusing on Ypres.
My family consists of my wife, daughter age 13, son age 15 and myself.
We would like to go on Tuesday. If possible, please reply with telephone contact details.
