Private tour in Chengdu
Tour Price : $200 Duration : 8 hours Languages: English,Chinese, Japanese
Itinerary:
7:30 AM – Pick-up from your hotel in Chengdu downtown.
After a 1.5-hour drive, we’ll arrive at Dujiangyan Panda Base, where you can observe the pandas during their feeding time (9:00 AM to 11:00 AM) – when they are most active. This is the perfect time to take photos and enjoy watching these adorable creatures up close. The Panda Base is home to several giant pandas and red pandas, and offers a unique opportunity to learn about their conservation efforts and get closer to these beloved animals.
Lunch will be in Dujiangyan Ancient City, a historic city famous for its traditional architecture and delicious local cuisine, including the famous Sichuan dishes. It’s a great chance to experience the culinary culture of the region.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Dujiangyan UNESCO World Heritage Site – the famous Dujiangyan Irrigation System, one of the three largest ancient man-made wonders in China. This sophisticated irrigation system, built over 2,000 years ago during the Qin Dynasty, continues to be used today and has been crucial in controlling the Min River's floods and irrigating the Chengdu Plain. While here, you can explore the ancient bridges, canals, and city walls, marveling at the engineering feat that still serves the region.
If time allows, we’ll take a walk up Yulei Mountain, which is part of the Qingcheng Mountain Range – one of the birthplaces of Taoism. The mountain is dotted with ancient watchtowers, forts, Taoist temples, and offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. Confucius Temple is also located here, a serene spot where you can reflect on Confucian teachings and Chinese philosophy.
For plant lovers, there are stunning Chinese Bonsai Gardens in Dujiangyan, home to bonsai trees that are over 1,800 years old. The gardens are meticulously maintained and are a tranquil place to appreciate the art of bonsai and learn about its rich history in Chinese culture.
For those who love nature, you can also visit the Hongkou Nature Reserve, known for its breathtaking mountains, canyons, forests, and waterfalls. The reserve is a perfect destination for nature lovers looking to explore beautiful, less-visited landscapes and enjoy hiking or photography amidst pristine nature.
Since it may not be possible to visit all these places in one day, you can choose the activities that interest you the most.
4:00 PM – Transfer back to your hotel in Chengdu downtown.
