Tour Price : 300 PLZ this is 110 USD or 75 Euro Duration : 4-5 hours Languages: English

Due to the curves of history the Jewish people have left their traces in lots of different countries besides the one they actually originate from. For many centuries Poland has been a shelter for one of the biggest Jewish community in the world. This private tour in Krakow is focused firstly on the places in one way or other connected with the Jewish culture and people. We will start our tour at the very heart of Jewish life in Krakow before the World War II – the Szeroka Street. There are three Jewish synagogues located on the Szeroka Street.

The most important of them is the Old Synagogue, which is also called Alte Schul. It is worth noting that it is the oldest Jewish edifice in Krakow. It is believed that the Old Synagogue was built approximately in the 15th century. Currently it houses a wonderful historical museum which has numerous exhibitions linked to the life and culture of the Jews in Poland and Krakow in particular. Our next destination will be the Remuh Synagogue, which dates back from the Renaissance epoch (mid-16th century).  There is also a very old cemetery, where famous Jews were buries.

Among them is the legendary religious writer and rabbi Moses Isserles whose tomb still attracts lots of Jewish pilgrims. Afterwards we will proceed to the third synagogue – Popper Synagogue, which was built in the 17th century. After having explored it thoroughly we will also take a look at some other less significant synagogues: Tempel Synagogue (19th century), Kupa Synagogue (17th century), Isaac Synagigue (mid 17th century), and Wysoka Synagogue (approximately 16th century). We will also visit the Galicija Museum if you like. After that we will proceed to the New Jewish Cemetery and the Ghetto Square.

Most people who come to Krakow are always eager to visit the legendary Schindler Factory and will also have such a wonderful opportunity to see this place. As your private guide in Poland I would advice you to take a look at the place where the Plaszow camp used to be.
