Let them make your dream vacation a reality.
Marilynn: I will be in Istanbul on September 2, 2010 and would like to have a half-day walking tour of the former Greek churches of Fener. I understand some of them are undergoing restoration and it would be impossible to see them without a Turkish-speaking guide.
Specifically, I would like to visit Fethiye Camii(Maria Pammakaristos), St. Mary of the Mongols, Gul Camii, the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate and if we have time, St. Stephen of the Bulgars. I plan to visit the Kariye Museum in the morning (this is my second trip to Istanbul, and I have seen the Chora church but want to see it again).
Would you be available for such a tour, and if so, what is your price? I have no problem walking and could meet you at Kariye at a time we arrange.
Thanks for your reply.
Larry: We arrive Istanbul on Oct 30 and depart on cruse ship Oceania 11/3 at 3:00 for Ephesus. We arrive Ephesus 12N on 11/4 and depart 8:00 PM that day.
For Istanbul we want to see the major sites, take a cruise on the Bosporus, perhaps get "off the beaten track." Check out markets, bazaars, neighborhoods.
For Ephesus we don't need Virgin Mary's house but as much of everything else that we can fit in the time frame would be welcome.
Assume 1/2 day in Ephesus (maybe + an hour) and full day or two in Istanbul.
Please advise vehicle used and guide qualifications.
We are 4 people. We want a private tour in a comfortable vehicle.
Please provide suggested itineraries for each day and costs for driver/guide. Thanks. Larry
Philip: Dear Guide,
I am planning a trip to Eastern Turkey this June for approximately 14 days. I am doing a programme of visits researching the Roman Empire\'s frontier provinces, and my trip would concentrate (but not exclusively so) on this aspect of Turkey. I have some idea of the places that I wish to visit (including Trabzon, Van, Sanliurfa, Mardin, Antakya) , but to save your time, I would be grateful if you could let me know if this is the sort of private tour you would be prepared to operate as guide/driver. If it is, then I can send you more details to enable you to comment if you think the itinerary is reasonable and to give a rough price. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Jodie: My family and I will be in Kusadasi, Turkey on August 18th, 2009. We will be there from 7am to 6pm. We have two children ages 10 - 12, and they are very excited to see Ephusus and all the wonderful highlights of the area. We will be arriving at the port on a Royal Carribean cruise ship and so will only have the day to see it all! We were hoping that you could help us with this. My husband and I were there just 3 weeks ago on another cruise and took the cruise tour, since we will be with our children this time we wanted to make the most of our time and not worry about large crowds! thank you for any information you might have.
