This tour is perfect for anyone who wants to experience a classic water town without traveling too far from Shanghai. Zhujiajiao is the most convenient—just an hour by metro—and full of charm: old canals, stone bridges, quiet gardens, and streets that feel frozen in time.

We'll also try local snacks as we walk—Apo Zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), smoked beans, lotus root, or whatever catches our eye. For lunch, I'll take you to a simple family spot where locals eat. Nothing fancy, just honest food.

If you're still not tired, we can add more: a peaceful boat ride through the canals, a visit to the old Qing Post Office, a riverside teahouse to rest and watch boats pass, or just more wandering through quiet backstreets. Anything is possible.

Public transport and private cars are both available, depending on what suits you best.
