Culture and History tour in Chennai

We Start the tour in the morning from Chennai, which is the 4th largest Metropolitan city in India. And proceed to Kancheepuram by Road. Kancheepuram is a Town of Temples built during the 8th, 12th and 16th centuries. First we will visit the famous Kamakshi Amman Temple, the highlight will be the Temple Elephant and the golden Vimana. Second we will visit the Ekambranatha Temple, famous for its corridor and mango tree. Third we visit the Kailashnatha Temple, made of sand stone during the 8th century and last we visit the Varadarajasamy Temple, famous for the excusively carved 100 pillar hall. After lunch we go for silk shopping, where the sarees are hand made and takes 15 - 40 days to make one saree. after shopping we proceed to Pondicherry and night halt. On the second day we visit the Ashram, and walk through the french part of Pondicherry. After lunch, we visit Auroville and proceed to Mamallapuram for night Halt. The third day we visit the Rock Carvings in Mamallapuram, dating back to the 7th and 8th centuries, carved out of natural boulders of Rock. The highlight will be the Shore Temple and the Five Rathas, After lunch we proceed to Chennai
