Welcome to Riga, the largest city of all the three Baltic States and the capital of Latvia! My name is Aija Tamsone and I will be your Riga private tour guide. This beautiful city has so much to offer and I will gladly assist you in exploring the historically rich center of Riga and its surroundings. Being a very important trade, political and cultural hub on the Baltic coast, Riga was always in the focus of interests for many powerful states such as Sweden or Russia. That’s why you can see a lot of different influences in this city, coming from both east and west. This is one of the most fascinating features of Riga, and you will certainly enjoy exploring its long history with me as your guide.

Being a former Soviet state, Latvia still has more traits of a typical European country, which can be easily observed in its capital. Riga boasts a large number of historic buildings and sites that are organically mixed with the modernist influences of contemporary architecture. Numerous art galleries, museums, specialty shops, cultural events and performances make Riga a very attractive destination. While its historical center, which makes part of the UNESCO World Heritage collection, is the perfect spot to enjoy classic European architecture.

You will definitely love Riga after discovering it with me. My nearly 40 years of experience working as a Riga private tour guide allow me to pinpoint the exact locations where your interests will be fulfilled. The tours are available in English, Russian, German, French, Swedish, and of course Latvian, transportation is also included. Just tell me what are your interests and I will make sure to show you the best spots in Riga! Being an avid traveler myself I know what it’s like when the guide understands your priorities. So I always do my best to do so with my customers.
