The tour begins in Mt. Hagen, where you'll experience the vibrant Huli Wigmen performing in their beautiful traditional costumes, dancing to the beat of the kundu drums. From there, we’ll travel along the Highlands Highway, the longest in Papua New Guinea (PNG 🇵🇬), to Chimbu, where we’ll visit the Skeleton Tribe.

Goroka:

Next, we continue on to Goroka, home to the famous Asaro Mudmen tribe. We’ll explore Komunive Village and take a breath in the heart of Goroka, enjoying the cool breezes from Asaro. During this visit, you'll witness a variety of unique cultural performances, including:

• Mokomoko Victory Performance
• Korokuwo Mask Performance
• Goroka Hipuruto Mamas, singing and dancing in their colorful costumes
• Traditional dating ceremonies
• Face painting with natural paints
• Mumu, traditional cooking in a ground oven, where you'll savor delicious bamboo-cooked, pure, and organic food

Bena Tribe:

One of the highlights of the tour will be a visit to the Bena Tribe, where you’ll witness the Cain Swallowing Traditions — a dangerous rite of passage that can be life or death. You'll learn how they cleanse the body system from boyhood to manhood, and you’ll also see the grooming ceremony, including their unique fighting rituals and how they pay the bride price for marriage.
